| This coming January it will be 18 years since the United kingdom officially began operations to liberate Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion.
The expulsion of Iraqi troops from Kuwait began on the 16th January 1991 and Kuwait was officially declared as “liberated” on the 27th February 1991. In all the United Kingdom deployed around 53,000 service personnel to the area, sadly losing 74 troops during combat.
The NGVFA are going to be pushing the day through the media, and commemorating locally. We invite all members and families to get involved, so please call the NGVFA office with any ideas or plans.
