Event: Beverley Armed Forces Day
Location: Beverley

What a glorious day to have an Armed Forces Day! Phil McAllister was the first on site, hankering for his "bacon sarnie". The sun definitely brought out the crowds from early on and the flow to the stall was fairly constant. Yet again the "trying on kit" went down very well but Maria couldn't lift her arms the next day due to lifting the Bergen that many times throughout the day. She now has muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger!

Phil kindly took the bucket around the event and had to come back twice to empty it (of money of course!). We made sure he was kept in supply of coffee and water but did manage to persuade him to enter the "other" watering hole just at the back of our stall. As ever Phil managed to get money out of people in the pub and physically brought someone to the stall to purchase a teddy.

The crowds started to disperse mid-afternoon as the men's Wimbledon final was on so we couldn't compete with Andy Murray. All in all though a very good day and we managed to raise 513.15, which was up on last year's figure.

A big thank you to Phil for his collecting prowess and to Christine and Ellie for volunteering and their hard work on the stall.
